Kinetico K5 Drinking Water Station
Your drinking water, with EUREk advice
The Kinetico K5 with VOC Guard treats water at the kitchen tap through reverse osmosis. EUREk starts your residential project with a free water assessment, checks treatment needs and installation conditions, then prepares a quote for the appropriate configuration.
Filtration tailored to your water
The treatment path includes prefiltration, a reverse osmosis membrane, an auxiliary filtration position, the VOC Guard filter, storage, carbon polishing and delivery to the tap. A sediment or carbon/sediment prefilter is selected for the feed water. Auxiliary cartridges address specific needs: Purefecta Bacteria/Virus Guard, Arsenic Guard, Perchlorate Guard, Chloramine Guard or Mineral Plus.
QuickFlo uses water pressure to deliver stored water. EverClean rinses the membrane with treated water. MACguard stops delivery when the postfilter reaches its rated capacity, and PureMometer helps track remaining capacity. Performance and certifications depend on the selected combination of cartridges and storage tank.
Installation reference points
Manual 18120A specifies feed pressure of 50–120 psi, temperature of 2–38 °C and a rated dispensing flow of 1.89 L/min. Auxiliary and postfilter rated capacity is 1,895 L. Under test conditions, daily production is 90.47 L with the standard 3-gallon tank and 148.39 L with the 3-gallon QuickFlo tank. Actual production varies with water conditions, pressure, temperature and use.
Verified performance for the appropriate configuration
The manual cites NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 58, NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 and CSA B483.1. The NSF P231 microbiological protocol applies only to the specified Purefecta configuration with a standard tank. Perchlorate Guard, Chloramine Guard and Mineral Plus are not WQA-certified for performance. EUREk checks the applicable performance data sheet before recommending contaminant reduction.
Installation, maintenance and ongoing support
EUREk plans connections, tap and tank selection, cartridge replacement and sanitization according to the manual. Microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality requires appropriate disinfection before or after the system. Selecting a drinking-water system does not establish that the water is safe to drink.
Kinetico Canadian residential warranty 15816E specifies covered components and exclusions. Media and cartridges remain subject to manufacturer maintenance requirements. Contact EUREk for your free water assessment and a quote after evaluation.
